Universities vary considerably in how they acknowledge the value of educational and scholarly software produced by their faculty. Since the production of software and continual updates require time and intellectual energy, it helps to substantiate that the software is being used. By asking permission, you support faculty who make research and educational software available through web distribution. A brief, informal e-mail report with any comments about the value of the software as well as any corrections or suggestions for future versions would be most appreciated.
