Students
Are you struggling to choose a major or determine your career direction?  You’re not alone. Selecting a major and determining a career path can be a difficult and often confusing process. If you are worried about making the wrong choice, curious about your options, questioning your current major or career path, or if you just want to speak with someone about your concerns, we’re here for you.

Our School of Business Career Services and Internships Office in cooperation with USM’s Career Services Office offer a variety of services and resources to assist you in making an informed career decision. We can help you every step of the way, whether it’s assessing your interests, skills, and values as they relate to the world-of-work or finding out about how your choice of major correlates with potential careers.

Researching careers is an important part of career planning. Being well informed gives you an advantage. Becoming well informed can happen through research, internships inside businesses that interest you, informational interviews with relevant business leaders, mentorships, and joining organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, USM’s own Corporate Partners, or student groups.

Internships offer many advantages for different reasons: to earn academic credit, gain experience, test out a career choice or earn money. Our School of Business Career Services office can help you sort out your reasons and guide you through the process of finding an internship.
