PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Professor Smoluk is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Financial Management Association, Eastern Finance Association and the American Economic Association. Before coming to USM, he worked four years with Deloite & Touche in New York City specializing in auditing investment companies, and for five years as a senior financial analyst at the corporate headquarters of Summit Bank in Princeton, New Jersey. He has written and presented research papers at the Financial Management Association annual meetings. He is an active researcher and published articles in refereed journals, such as Kentucky Journal of Economics and Business, America Business Review, Studies in Economics and Finance, Review of Financial Economics, The Credit and Financial Management Review, The Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Multinational Financial Management.
