Fall Payment Information
The deadline for making payment in full or enrolling in a payment plan for Fall 2008 is August 15, 2008.
Paper bills will only be mailed to students who pre-register prior to August 1.
Paper bills will not be mailed to students registering for the first time, adding classes to an existing schedule or incurring other campus charges (e.g. housing or health center charges)
after August 1, 2008. These students are responsible for reviewing their on-line billing statement to determine if a balance is due. A link to MaineStreet (PeopleSoft) and other billing information can be found at www.usm.maine.edu/buso.
Payment for charges posted to a student account after August 15, 2008 is due at the time the charge is incurred.
Check payments should be made payable to “USM” with the student’s name and ID number on the face of the check. The University accepts Discover, MasterCard, and Visa debit or credit cards.
Payments may be made in person at the Portland Business Office, the Gorham Student Billing Office, Lewiston-Auburn College or University College Bath, Sanford and Saco.
If payment is not received by the due date, the University will assess a $50.00 Late Payment Fee. A maximum of $200.00 per semester may be assessed for late payment. Registration is canceled only in the case of students who have demonstrated a history of late payment. These students will have signed a form acknowledging being advised that the University has accepted the registration with the understanding that it will be voided if timely payment is not received. Due to the limited number of spaces available in some course sections, a student may not be able to re-register for the originally selected courses if the registration is canceled.
