PROPEL OUR DONOR SHUTTLE THROUGH THE SOLAR SYSTEM!

Currently: Vessel is now 1,257,500 miles from the Sun.

The USM Southworth Planetarium has launched an ambitious fund raising campaign. Our aim is to become a State of the Art 21st century planetarium. We are asking for your donation to assist us in this bold enterprise! We start with our Donor Shuttle at the Sun.

Our goal is to move the Donor Shuttle through the solar system, planet by planet.

How does it move? With donations. Every $1.00 we receive moves the donor shuttle 1000 miles! The first stop is Mercury at a distance of 36 million miles ($36,000.)

Give us your donation and you will help move our ship. We'll send you a card or a certificate indicating that you moved our donor shuttle.. This card/certificate will include the place in the solar system where you propelled the ship. Currently, we just left the Sun en route to Mercury. You (or your organization) will also be included on our donor list! And, yes, the donation is tax-deductible!

What do we want to do?!

EVERYTHING!

We want to perform the most comprehensive renovation in our history: from the acquisition of full dome video system to upgraded digital star projector.

We want to provide the community and its students with the best possible astronomical education venue. Our dome is the nucleus of our operation. Our aim is to present shows and courses that will give you an entirely new view of the Universe around us.
