Overview of Course

Physics 123 is a calculus-based introductory physics course that discusses electricity, magnetism, and optics.  Calculus is used freely and frequently, so if you have not taken or are not currently enrolled in calculus, you should consider Physics 112.

Physics for Engineers and Scientists

by Ohanian and Markert

Available at the USM Bookstore; you have a choice of volume 1, volume 1+2, and the Extended edition. All three options come with a clicker (also required)


Setting Up your Clicker

 

Once you buy your clicker from the bookstore, I need you to send me the clicker ID, along with your name and student ID. 

To Find your clicker ID: 

•Power on your clicker. Once it starts scanning channels, press the Menu key (the * key) twice to stop the scan and display the Setup Menu.

•Scroll (with the up and down arrow keys) to the Diagnostics and press the green enter key.

•Scroll to Radio ID. This is your ClickerID number.


Then please send me an email with REGISTER (All Caps) in the subject line and with a message in EXACTLY the following format (include the commas, and include a space after each comma)

ClickerID, LastName, FirstName, StudentID, email

for example:

2EBFF7, Doe, John, 123997531, john.doe@maine.edu
