Bronek Suchanek, double bass
Trained at a conservatory
in his native country of Poland, Bronek performed throughout Europe, including
such venues as the Montreux and North Sea (Holland) jazz festivals. After
studying at conservatories in Poland and Sweden, and performing with major
American jazz artists such as Don Cherry, Thad Jones, Roland Hannah, Mel
Lewis, and Mal Waldron, Bronek immigrated to America. Since his arrival
in Boston, he has become one of the most sought-after bassists in New England.
In addition to teaching at the University of Southern Maine, Bronek also
teaches at the Maine Jazz Camp.
