Linda Freeman, soprano
Linda Freeman, soprano, received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education
with a concentration in vocal performance from USM, graduating with highest
honors. Additional studies were done at Westminster Choir College, the
University of Wisconsin, and Gordon College. A teacher of applied voice,
Mrs. Freeman has been a soloist for numerous major works, recitals, area
churches and organizations. She holds active membership in the National
Association of Teachers of Singing and the Portland Rossini Club. She also
served on the faculty of Saint Joseph's College in Standish for eleven
years.
On Friday, May 18, 2001 Linda Freeman passed away at the age of 61,
at her home in West Buxton, Maine. Ms. Freeman served 21 years at the University
of Southern Maine Department of Music, and will be missed by all.
