Michael Brady is Professor of Adult Education at the University
of Southern Maine. He holds degrees from St. Mary’s
Seminary and University (B.A., M.Div.) and the University of
Connecticut
(M.S.W., Ph.D). He teaches graduate courses in adult education
theory, action research, facilitation, and gerontology. He also
holds a research appointment in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
at the University of Southern Maine. This is a “senior
college” for
persons age 55 and older. In addition to his regular on-campus
courses and research activities, each summer Mike teaches a travel-based
undergraduate course entitled Baseball and American Society:
A Journey. This course, which travels by motor coach and visits
eight
to ten cities each summer, has been featured in numerous newspaper
articles and television programs and won a national award for
innovation in higher education. Mike works on the Gorham Campus
and lives
in Gorham Village with his wife, Nancy, and their three children. |
