Shipping and shipbuilding was the growing force in the development of Bath. Without years of development of the skilled trade of building this town would not have been able to grow as it has. The city of Bath has such deep roots in shipbuilding it has knick named itself the city of ships. These images show how the Kennebec river is still as important as it once was hundreds of years ago.
