The Classics program at the University of Southern offers a $1,000 scholarship for the study of Latin or Ancient Greek at USM. If you are planning to be a full-time student at the University next Fall, and have studied three or more years (or the equivalent) of high school Latin or Greek, we encourage you to apply for this scholarship.
Applications are due May 15. The recipient of the $1,000 award will be informed by the end of May. Half of the funds will be deducted from the student's Fall tuition and the other half from Spring tuition, provided that the student is enrolled in the appropriate course of Latin or Greek (typically LAT 251 or higher).
To be eligible for the award, you must be an entering full-time student at USM who has previously studied three or more years (or the equivalent) of high school Latin or Ancient Greek.
Selection among several qualified applicants will be based on academic merit, as determined by your letter of recommendation, grades, and any other activities related to the Classics, such as JCL participation.
