Discursive Practices

This is a senior seminar course that will explore how identities are created and sustained through talk. The course also will examine devices of conversation. Prereq.: junior or senior standing in COM

Until recently, much of my work was focused on the Internet for Educators . About 6 or 7 years ago, I began to teach a course on Internet for SeniorsMore recently, I combine the Senior College (OOLI) course with an undergraduate course (COM 480) in which students mentor the Senior College students and write research papers on aging and communication. Several of the communication courses I teach make use of the Internet and multimedia software, for instance, Computer-Mediated Communication Research , and Intrapersonal Communication .
