CBER's Mission

To provide high-quality applied research and technical assistance services to Maine's private and public sector organizations through the combined expertise of faculty, staff, and students from the School of Business, the Muskie School of Public Service, and other colleges and schools at the University of Southern Maine.

CBER offers applied research and technical assistance to economic development districts, profit and not-for-profit organizations, and individuals. These services include:

CBER's Products
|
CBER is responsible for the publication of Maine Business Indicators (MBI), a bi-annual report focusing on economic issues and trends in Maine and beyond.

CBER maintains the Maine Labor Force Database, a web-based interactive database containing demographic and economic information useful in market research, opportunity analysis, and economic development, at www.usm.maine.edu/cber.
|
CBER maintains the Regional Economic Model, Inc. (REMI) for Maine and nine substate regions. By utilizing this econometric model, Center researchers are able to prepare forecasts, conduct economic impact studies, and perform simulations of a wide variety of economic events.
