Hal Koch, 1994, 98 pp.
A translation of the book by the Danish professor of theology. The work remains relevant more than 50 years after its initial publication in 1945. Written immediately after World War II, it is unobtrusively full of the Christian attitude towards the world. The book is perfectly suited to the needs of post-communist times. It is not a textbook on democracy but an effort to stimulate the reader to think about the basic values of democracy, the most precious heritage of European civilization, such as freedom, rights, humanity.
