Griefs of the Serbian Soul

Jadi srpske duse

Miodrag Stanisavljevic, 1995, 72 pp.

The last book by Miodrag Stanisavljevic consists of the poems written between 1989 and 1994. A number of those poems was published in the Knjizevna rec, before the editorial board of these literary magazine has been removed from its office, and also in Knjizevne novine, before the "patriotic" censorship was introduced into this magazine. Most of the poems, however, have not-in fact could not be published-in the current literary periodicals. "Griefs of the Serbian Soul" is a poetic story about "Serbia in the year zero".
