GORHAM, Maine -- Junior Kristin Pappolla's (North Port, Fla.) goal with

disappeared over the next two minutes as freshman Amy Simard (Woonsocket, R.I.)
scored her first career goal at 7:56, and sophomore Aimee Provencher
(Manchester, N.H.) got the Seahawks even at 9:18.
Freshman Megan Irving (Cumberland, Maine) gave the Huskies the lead before
the end of the second period when she scored on the power play.

period for USM, got the win after registering three saves. Junior Jen Arno

Despite being out-shot 59-3 for the game, the Huskies found themselves in a
one-goal game after two periods thanks to the work of junior goalie Jen Arno
(Westford, Mass.). Arno had 41 saves in the first 40 minutes to keep the score
at 2-1 before succumbing to the relentless Valiant pressure.
Manhattanville took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by sophomore
Amanda Nonis (Brampton, Ontario) at 14:33. The Valiants held the Huskies
without a shot in the first 20 minutes, but Nonis' shot was the only one to slip
past Arno.
The Huskies tied the game at 13:31 of the second period when junior Caitlin
Tassone (Woburn, Mass.) scored off a feed from junior Lauren Pierce (Westport,
Conn.).
The tie lasted two minutes as the Valiants regained the lead for good on a
power-play goal by senior Jessica Temesy (Blenheim, Ontario).
In the final period, sophomore Cory Alcorn (Orangeville, Ontario) and
senior Jesse Garner (Idaho Falls, Idaho) scored 40 seconds apart to give the
Valiants a three-goal lead. The hosts clinched the outing with goals by Temesy
and sophomore Jessica Zimmerman (Wauseon, Ohio) in the final two minutes.
Arno finished the game with a career-high 53 saves. Sophomore Liane Ortis
(Mississauga, Ontario) was credited with two saves for Manhattanville.
