   AMS 697 -- Externship

Under the stewardship of the student’s graduate advisory committee, an externship will be arranged for a student to gain research training at a laboratory out side the university (e.g. our industry, research institute and government affiliates). Similar arrangement can be designed with some modifications for students who are already employed at the laboratory where externship will be conducted. A written project on the work experience, similar to dissertation, to be presented and approved by the advisory committee, is required.
