Volunteer Opportunities

An important facet to any successful experience at an institution of higher learning is participation in the campus and surrounding community. With this in mind, the University of Southern Maine encourages the recipients of its merit scholarships to get involved.

Students who have participated in volunteer activities have gained invaluable experience and education. Many students take the opportunity to gain practical experience in their area of study, get involved in something they are interested in, gain information about an organization they know little about, or just become an active member of the greater community.

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to volunteer with the University of Southern Maine's Office of Undergraduate Admission Office. This is a great way to meet prospective students and welcome them to the USM community. Ways to get involved include:

  • Fall Open House - October 19, 2008
    Meet with prospective students.
  • Info Sessions/Special Presentations - usually on Saturdays. Meet with groups of students and parents to discuss USM.
