WOMPO - Women's Poetry Listserv

Wompo is an international listserv devoted to the discussion of Women's Poetry. Membership is open to all individuals who are interested in discussing poetry written by women. The discussion covers women poets of all periods, aesthetics, countries, and ethnicities. Information about joining can be found here.

Wompo members also sponsor Foremothers, women poets no longer alive whose work has inspired and encouraged members. Biographical information and sponsor statements are available in the Foremothers corner.

The Wompo list was started in December 1997 by Annie Finch with an invitation to a small group of poets, critics, and lovers of women's poetry. These people in turn invited others to join and the list has grown gradually by spreading through these networks.
