Students at USM are introduced to Diana Hacker’s The
Writer’s Reference in English 100, English Composition.

--provides an array of resources for writers including
electronic writing, grammar, and research exercises; language
debates; model papers; a “links library” with links to other
online resources (related to composing and revising; document
design; grammar, style, punctuation, and usage; critical thinking;
and conducting research); and a guide to finding and
documenting sources using several major styles (MLA, APA, Chicago,
and CBE).
