Contact Information
Doug is the Coordinator of Multicultural and Substance Abuse Services at USM. He had spent most of his 12 year career as the Coordinator of the Day One Street Program, which provides mental health and substance abuse services for Portland’s most at-risk youth, ages 16 to 23…from first-generation Americans to those isolated by mental health challenges to young people marginalized by poverty. As a USM clinician, he is licensed for both substance abuse and mental health counseling, and has worked with adolescents, young adults, couples and families. In both individual and group settings, his psychodynamic approach incorporates mindfulness and motivational enhancement techniques. Other professional interests include staff supervision, program development, in-service training, and multiple agency/discipline collaboration.
Doug spends many of his remaining hours writing, recording and performing songs in the vibrant Portland music scene.
