TRiO UB Summer Academy

What is the UB Summer Academy?

Each summer, students are required to participate in the residential UB Summer Academy.  Students who have just finished their freshman and sophomore years will attend the Academy for five weeks and students who have just finished their junior year will attend a one-week intensive college preparatory session.   Students stay in Woodward Hall on  USM’s Gorham campus with a roommate, are supervised by Upward Bound staff, take academic or college preparatory courses, eat in the dining hall, and learn first-hand about college life.  Summer activities also include college and career exploration, cultural and recreational activities, leadership skills building, and community service.
