Christmas 2005
For Christmas 2005, the Wise Lab holiday party was held at the Stone House, down a quiet lane on Wolf’s Neck in Freeport. The atmosphere and the food were great! The fireplace in the dining room and the reflections on the tall windows added to the festivity.
At John’s initiative, we also unveiled the lab Christmas tree! The tree was first set up with lights, and a new tradition was started, where ornaments, either homemade or purchased, are added to the tree by lab members each year. Some of us also strung traditional popcorn and cranberry garlands.
Once again, we were joined by new lab members. Sonny Tait, Aldona Karaczyn, and several students visiting from other countries: Oana Popa (Romania), Tania Li Chen (Portugal), and new USM students, including those summer interns who could make the trip attended. The students were even more boisterous this year
We also instituted a slide show that included John’s report on the year, and some of the photos from John, James and David’s trip to Patagonia.
