About Telecom
Our commitment is to provide fast efficient service to the
University Community. The Telecommunications department is
located in room 4 Payson Smith Hall on the Portland campus and
provides a variety of telephone services to all residence hall
students, staff and faculty.
You may also obtain the
USM
Card; the official University of Southern Maine identification card,
at the Telecommunications Office. The
USM
Card is required to access certain facilities at the Portland and Gorham
Campus.
To
REPORT telephone troubles, outages or
service problems please call
the HelpDesk at Ext. 4029. The
Helpdesk will create a ticket and send it to Telecommunications.
After hours, please leave your name and phone number, location
(building and room number) and a brief description of the
problem.
If requesting department long distance
authorization codes, cellular phones service or a cellular
loaner
phone, please print and complete the relevant form and fax/mail
to our department. All forms are listed on our
form
page.

Directory Information can also be
UPDATED using our
ON-LINE
Directory Update Form, which can be submitted electronically
