Graduate Assistantships

Two graduate assistantships are available immediately:

1. GRA - Graduate Research Assistant

  • 20 hours per week work expectation
  • Full-time enrollment with at least 9 credits
  • Literature reviews
  • Designing and conducting experiments
  • Statistical analysis
  • Cost justifications
  • Leads directly to several publications

The person(s) in this position will work with, and report to, a full-time faculty member engaged in a focused research agenda. Primary responsibilities include working with a faculty member while conducting and publishing research based on designed experiments and appropriate methodological protocols related to the design, configuration, operation, maintenance, or repair of manufacturing systems. This position carries with it the expectation of working 20 hours per week on a 10 month contract, and a full-time student load of 9 credit hours. 


2. GTA - Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • 20 hours per week work expectation
  • Full-time enrollment with at least 9 credits
  • Direct support of a brand new, fully integrated
    manufacturing system (CIM)
  • Teaching courses and laboratories as assigned
  • Some research may be required

The person(s) in this position will work with, and report to, a full-time faculty member engaged in teaching courses related to a fully integrated "Learning Factory" or Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) system. Primary responsibilities include working with a faculty member to design, develop, and teach course(s) as they relate to the manufacturing system. Secondary responsibilities include developing laboratory-based activities, instructional materials, and associated support material. This position carries with it the expectation of working 20 hours per week on a 10 month contract, and a full-time student load of 9 credit hours.
