Coffee grounds collected and used in USM's gardens
Posted May 16, 2012
USM has a new recycling program that diverts used coffee grounds generated on campus from the trash to the landscape. Coffee grounds can be added directly to lawns and gardens without being composted to aid in soil repair and health. An estimated nine tons of grounds will be saved from the trash each year which means serious waste reduction, happier plants, and lower waste disposal costs! Visit the Coffee Grounds Recycling page for all the details.
