Jazz Repertoire and Techniques for the Instrumental Music Educator
will review techniques for working with the middle and high school
jazz big band and combo. Topics will include ensemble set-up, warm-
up, rhythm section technique, stylistic interpretation, articulation,
section balance and blend, etc. A review of repertoire for middle and
high school ensembles will be presented. Students should bring their
instruments for hands-on experience. An opportunity to work with a
jazz ensemble is planned.
