USM Day of Service is an opportunity for USM community members to join together to better the Greater Portland community. The 4th Annual USM Day of Service is on April 19th from 10am-4pm.
Planning for USM Day of Service is taking place now and we are calling all students who would like to be involved. If you are interested please contact jpond@usm.maine.edu !
Some examples of past projects include:
- Rippling Waters Organic Farm(Standish): Good Weather = covering outdoor gardens with soil, leaves & hay & making raised beds; poor weather- planting in greenhouse & hoop houses
- Partners for World Health(Scarborough): Sorting medical supplies to be sent to developing nations
- Portland Trails(Portland): TBD, most likely derooting and clearing trails
- Gorham Greenhouse(Gorham Campus): making raised beds, planting seeds, marking plants
