Room and Board

During the ten-day residencies our students attend twice per year, the MFA office makes arrangements for student accommodations.  Participation in the room and board package offered is completely optional.  The room & board fees are approximately $825.00-$925.00. Room and board charges may vary due to changes in the cost of rooms and catering.

During our winter residency lodgings are in downtown Freeport, Maine; in the past we have stayed at The Hilton Garden Inn, located on Route 1 in Freeport, Maine.  In the winter, room and board fees cover your room, breakfast at the hotel, and lunch at the Stone House where the day’s seminars and workshops convene.  Dinner is not included during the winter residency but there are many good restaurants in Freeport.  In the winter, you may opt to share a room with another student at a reduced rate of $413.00-$513.00. 

Room & board for the summer residency consists of housing on the Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick, Maine. Summer room and board includes breakfast and dinner at the Bowdoin cafeteria and lunch at the Stone House in Freeport.

Lunch only, without board, is always available for commuter students or students who are making their own arrangements for accommodations, at a cost of $155.00.
