Alumni Relations
Stonecoast Alumni
The Stonecoast Alumni Association (SAA) offers an important avenue for
alumni to stay connected with each other, with the Stonecoast program,
and with local and national literary news and opportunities. The SAA
is a key resource for learning of unique alumni resources such as the
Stonecoast Book Prize, alumni membership on the Stonecoast listserv,
and special post-graduate workshops in the Stone House.
A major goal of the SAA is to further strengthen Stonecoast's role in
the literary world, through organized readings and presentations at
literary conferences and events, special issues and other publishing
venues, Stonecoast-sponsored benefits and community service events,
Stonecoast readings nationwide, regional and Stone House reunions and
other activities showcasing the important work of Stonecoast writers.
For example, Stonecoast alumni nationwide played a key role in the
recent highly successful reading and bookdrive to benefit victims of
Hurricane Katrina. Plans are underway for the first annual Stonecoast
Annual Reading and Reception in New York City this spring, a luncheon
party at the upcoming AWP conference in Austin, Texas, and a reception
at AWP in New York in 2007.
