Welcome to the Stonecoast Writers’ Conference.

Each July, for 28 years, a dedicated group of writers has gathered on the coast of Maine. They meet in an austere old house pinched between Eastern pine forests and the mercurial Atlantic. For the other fifty-one weeks a year they are carpenters and caterers, neurosurgeons and sales clerks, but for this one week they nourish the writers they know themselves to be. They come to study with master teachers, to hone their craft, and to find inspiration. They come to share their enthusiasm and to learn. Every time they gather a community is formed.

In this ever-changing, electronic world, there’s something magical about institutions that hold fast. Whether this is your first summer at the Writers’ Conference or your fifteenth, you will find a community united by love of language and dedication to craft.

Don’t let another year slip by. This summer join us at Stonecoast.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Justin Tussing
