Uniform Requirements

photoPlease note: registered nurses (RNs) do not have to wear the traditional whites, however you must wear a name pin which also indicates: "USM Student" when in practicum.

The official student uniform consists of white or royal blue pants and tops and a white lab coat, name pin, U.S.M.C.O.N.H.P. emblem, and white shoes.

The color blue should most closely match the blue color of the USM emblem.

Please be aware of your professional and well groomed appearance, (i.e. the uniform should not include: ruffles, lace, overalls, denim-like material pants with rear patch pockets, anything tight fitting or above the knee and undergarments should not be visible through your uniform.)

White, 3/4 length White

SHOES
Provide good support, professional looking.

U.S.M.C.O.N. EMBLEM:
The University of Southern Maine College of Nursing emblem shall be worn on the left sleeve on the dress, pantsuit top, and lab coat.

First Name Last Name
USM Nursing Student

White background with blue letters.
Name pin shall be visible whenever providing care to clients

AVAILABILITY OF EMBLEM AND NAME PIN:
The emblem may be purchased at The Uniform Shop at 259 St. John Street in Portland or at Uniforms Express in South Portland at the Clark’s Pond
Shopping Plaza.
