Money talks

And interest pays off. Maine middle-schoolers are getting down to business thanks to a group of USM students. USM's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team volunteered to develop a school-based program to help economically disadvantaged students understand personal finance, entrepreneurship, and business ethics. Their volunteer work recently won them first place in a regional SIFE competition, where they also were named Rookie Team of the Year. Now that's banking on kids.
