Class act - USM Class of '77, in fact

Class act

USM Class of '77, in fact. After he graduated, USM theatre major Tony Shalhoub headed for the bright lights and ended up with a globe. Shalhoub snagged the 2003 Golden Globe Award for his starring role in the television series Monk, where he plays the quirky private detective Adrian Monk. When he returned as our 2003 commencement speaker, Shalhoub gave top billing to a USM theatre professor, calling him “the best teacher I’ve ever had.” Talk about character development.
