Southworth Planetarium shines at USM

If you've visited USM's Southworth Planetarium in person or online, you know that the answers are in the stars!

For more than 36 years, the planetarium has shined as an educational gem on USM's Portland campus, teaching area youth and adults celestial factoids.

Every year, over 17,000 K-12 students, and an additional 3,000 of the general public, take in more than 800 sky shows, classes, and programs. In response to our region's need for astronomy enrichment courses and science education activities, Planetarium staff members also take their show on the road, offering teacher workshops and general education programs in schools, libraries, and other community locations.
