Making Our Mark

At USM, responding to the needs of our region is a priority and that commitment has not gone unnoticed. USM has gained national recognition for work we do within and beyond our community.

Two USM Muskie School of Public Service research centers, one focusing on child welfare services and another on rural health research, were recognized for their expertise by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. USM's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the Southern Maine Partnership also were honored for their contributions to educational programming.

These accolades illustrate the central role USM plays in the region and our growing national prominence.
