We’re in the lead—LEED, that is.

It's not always easy to be green, but we're committed to using more sustainable practices. This year, USM opened a new state-of-the-art community education center and an advanced technology wing, both LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council for environmentally responsible design and construction. By using recycled materials and renewable, efficient energy sources, students and employees can learn and work in healthier spaces. Selecting local resources also boosts regional economy. Our commitment to greener practices is not just a choice; it's an attitude affecting how we operate, what we teach, and how we interact with global and local communities.

It’s also about leading the way to a sustainable future.
