CBMs
What is Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM)?
CBM is an assessment system that provides standardized, reliable, and valid general outcome measures of student performance in the core academic areas of reading, writing, spelling, and math.
Resources
Below are measures of silent reading fluency which were developed from authentic children's literature (known as MAZE assessments). These measures are free for use by all educators. At this time, there are no national norms for these measures. School-based users can develop their own local norms.
We have 20 MAZE items each at grades 4, 5, and 6. We are working on adding MAZE items for grades 7 and 8.
CBMs will be posted soon - they are currently off-line while we transition our site to a new platform.
