Flynn Ross, Associate Professor of Teacher Education, wrote an Off-Campus piece in the Portland Press Herald on Monday, March 11, 2013 on how equity ensures excellence in Maine schools and nation-wide. Ross states, " Investment in early childhood education and a high-quality teaching force are two of the primary strategies for correcting our decline."

Dr. Murphy, professor emeritus of counselor education, has received the Scholarship Award of the University of Maine’s Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies (CCIDS) for his vision and leadership in disability scholarship. He also provided the distinguished lecture at the CCIDS 20th Anniversary Lecture, Awards, and Reception.
