USM is pleased to announce the 2007-2008 Student Business Plan Competition begins in September, offering students the chance to win $10,000 to start their own business.

 

Looking for $10,000 to start your own business? Enter the USM Student Business Plan Competition now!

Welcome to the USM Student Business Plan Competition sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship, a part of the School of Business. The competition starts its seventh year in the fall semester.

 

As part of the competition student teams develop and submit a business plan, competing with other students for $10,000 in cash and $15,000 in consulting services. Competition registration is due October 31, 2007 (with a late registration option of January 4, 2008). Please check this site frequently for competition updates.

This year the competition is open to students from the following universities and colleges:

  • University of Southern Maine (USM)
  • Southern Maine Community College (SMCC)
  • University of Maine – Farmington (UMF)
  • University of Maine – Machias (UMM)
  • University of Maine – Orono (UMO)

The Student Business Plan Competition is designed to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and recognize small business ideas in the state of Maine. The competition allows student teams to create and develop an original business idea into a solid business plan in the hopes of winning $10,000 in cash and $15,000 in consulting services to start their business venture.
