Winter Storm Nemo Tips for Residents

Storm tips for residents to keep in mind as we prepare for Nemo's arrival:
1. No candles on campus - keep a flashlight handy!
2. Dining Center will be open regular hours.
3. Brooks Student Center will be open until 2am Friday 2/8 and Saturday 2/9. Activities galore, and the Husky Hideaway will be open for food service until 2am!
4. Be careful on stairs.
5. Stay inside if at all possible.
6. Stay away from power lines.
7. If you leave campus, shut your windows.
8. Do not use elevators during the storm in case power goes out.
9. If you want to get text messages from USM regarding emergencies, go to usm.maine.edu/usmalert and register!
10. Only call USM Public Safety at 780-5211 in the case of a real emergency. You can call the CIA office at 207-228-8200 for general updates during the storm.
