of the East Wing. Fifth floor Anderson is a Substance
Free floor; students living there sign a contract and commit
to a substance free lifestyle.
Dickey Wood Hall
This
coed residence hall, commonly known as "The Towers", is located
near the Costello Sports Complex and the baseball and softball
fields. The hall, which houses approximately 300 students,
features two eight-story towers that are joined on the ground
level by a common lounge and reception area. Rooms are arranged
in 4 room quads (two double rooms and two single rooms), with
4 quads per floor, for a total of sixteen rooms per floor.
Each single gender quad shares a bathroom, for a total of
4 bathrooms per floor.
Three of the sixteen floors are Special Interest Housing
floors, where students and staff work together to develop
goals and activities for the year around the floor theme.
These goals and member responsibilities will be articulated
in the floor's lifestyle agreement. Please contact the
Dickey Wood Resident Director at 207-780-5504 for more information
about these programs. A 24 hour quiet floor offers a third

of Arts Living Learning Community, or COA, is based in
this hall. Robie Andrews is also conveniently located close

ease the transition to college. Students in this community
take a 3 credit course in the hall called "Choices, Changes,
and Careers".
Woodward Hall
Woodward
Hall is home to USM's Russell
Scholars Program, where selected students attend classes
together and create an excellent and dynamic learning community.

residence hall is centered in the heart of the Gorham
campus. The building provides spectacular views of
the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the lakes region
of southern Maine. This new hall has the distinction of being
the first LEED
certified residence hall at USM. The extra care that was taken
in monitoring the materials used during the planning and construction
phases of the hall, combined with innovative programming,
has earned the hall a Gold LEED rating.

is conveniently situated near Bailey Hall, the John Mitchell
Center and USM's athletics facilities. Apartments and suites
have their own private bathrooms, are fully furnished,
and feature, among other amenities, air conditioning, full

student moves to a different room within Upperclass Hall.
Laundry is available on all floors, and can be monitored
from student computers.
The hall is home to the Sustainability
Living Learning Community. This community has a live-in
faculty member; activities and programs are centered around
environmental issues and environmental science. We invite
you to explore more here.
