                                COMMENCEMENT

                                        Almost Ready to Graduate? 

You must let the Registrar's Office know you are ready to graduate by filling out an
Application for Degree.  This form is available in the Registrar's Office, the Enrollment Services Center, Lewiston/Auburn College or the Off-Campus Centers. Fill out the form, and return it to one of the above offices. This form may also be faxed to Gorham Registrar's Office at 207-780-5517. 
At the appropriate time, we will send a copy of your transcript and a graduation certification to your dean's office. They will certify if you have met all your graduation requirements. This process does take time, so please fill out this form and return it at the beginning of your last semester. The University of Southern Maine has one Commencement Ceremony a year which is held in May. Anyone who has applied for graduation or graduated since the last ceremony will be sent information about Commencement. It is held at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. See the Academic Calendar for Commencement date. The Ceremony takes place at 9:00 a.m. and usually goes until noon.
