Tuition charges are determined by multiplying the number of credit hours attempted by a rate established by the Board of Trustees of the University of Maine System. The level of the course determines the type of tuition charged. A student registering for an undergraduate course is charged at the undergraduate rate. A student registering for a graduate course is charged at the graduate rate. A student registering for one undergraduate and one graduate course is charged at both rates.

NEBHE/CAN - The New England Regional Rate and Canadian Rate.
All USM courses will be charged the posted rates, including those being audited. A small number of courses are offered through ITV and broadcast from another campus. The rates for these classes are different and are noted in the following class schedule listing.
The financial requirements of the University, changing costs, state and legislative action and other matters may require an adjustment of charges and expenses. The University reserves the right to make such adjustments at any time. The applicant acknowledges this by submitting application for admission or by registering.
