Purchasing Card News
Just a timely reminder about a practice that Travelocity uses to add travel insurance to your airfare cost. Travelocity will add travel insurance for $24.95 (formerly $19.95) unless you change the yes to a no in the box titled "Yes I want the Travel Guard Travel Protection Plan for only $24.95 per person. I have read and agree to the Description of coverage"
Their website automatically defaults to a yes and adds the travel protection to your total charge, you must change this to "No, thanks. I'm going to decline the Travel Protection Plan"
The University doesn't cover travel insurance per the travel APL.
Please use caution and make sure that you do not inadvertently pay for travel insurance since it is not a covered travel expense. Keep this in mind for your airfare or if you book airfare for others.
