The Office of Marketing and Brand Management is responsible for
creating, maintaining, and enhancing the image of the University
through the production of printed promotional materials, communications/marketing
campaigns, and Web pages. We produce the major institutional
documents for USM including the undergraduate and graduate
catalogs, the student handbook, the admissions viewbook and
search piece, and the alumni magazine. We produce an additional
400 smaller pieces each year, which consist of promotional
brochures, posters, invitations, booklets, programs, and more.

The professional graphic designers, writers, and editors on our staff can help you achieve your goals.
We will meet with you to determine your goals and objectives,
schedule photographs, and devise a printed piece or plan to
achieve those goals. We can write your copy, or we can use
copy you provide. We will design a brochure (or whatever printed
piece is appropriate) and work with you through the entire
process—from concept to printing and delivery.

Our staff is available to design marketing plans. Not sure
what you should be doing to promote your program? We can help
you determine what media outlets you should be using, what
strategies you should be implementing, and what results you
should expect.

Any
paid advertising (exclusive of employment advertising) for
USM must go through our office. Our staff maintain contacts
with all media, so we are aware of special advertising opportunities
and restrictions. We design, create, and place the ad for
youall you have to do is let us know what program or
activity you want to promote.

We can help you conceptualize and organize a Web page or
site to effectively deliver key messages. We also may provide
guidance, in cooperation with University Computing Technologies,
on how to use the various technologies and software programs
available to accomplish your goalswhether you want to
upload files to the University server or to update your Web
page from your own office.
