Sustainable Development and Climate Change: The Swedish Approach
The USM Maine Watersheds Project is pleased to be hosting Lars Westermark, Sweden’s director of Climate Policy, as part of the “Teaching for Sustainability Workshop” series. Westermark will give a presentation from 6 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, Room 217, John Mitchell Center, Gorham Campus.
The presentation titled “Sustainable Development and Climate Change: The Swedish Approach,” focuses on Sweden’s ambitious climate policies, which are regarded as among the most successful in the world. This event is free and open to the public.
The presentation, funded by the Barbro Osher Foundation, will examine Sweden’s far-reaching climate targets, its measures to reduce greenhouse gas emission, and its commitment to a strong international climate agreement.
