Meg Weston
- Vice President for University Advancement
Meg Weston, a 1976 summa cum laude graduate of USM, has served as chair of the national Commission on Higher Education Governance, and from 1998 to 2008 served on the University of Maine System Board of Trustees, including two years as chair. She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from Lesley University.
She joined Bicknell Photo Service of Scarborough in 1977. Konica Corporation of Japan bought Bicknell and named Weston president and chief operating officer of Konica Quality Photo East. She was the only woman to lead one of Konica’s 177 worldwide subsidiaries. Under her leadership, Konica Quality Photo East introduced some of the first consumer digital imaging retail products in the U.S.
A native of Connecticut, Weston also served as president of the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram, and later as president and chief executive officer of Printlife.com, Inc., a global digital imaging and printing company. Since 2002, she has operated Weston Imaging LLC, a consulting firm specializing in providing strategy and marketing advice to digital imaging and other businesses.
Weston currently serves as vice president of the Maine Center for Creativity’s Board of Directors and is a member of Spurwink Institute’s Board of Directors.
