Apply to be a USM Pioneer!

For students beginning study at USM in Fall 2013:

Applicants for the Pioneers Program must complete and return the following applicaton supplements no later than January 2, 2013.

• Pioneers Application (PDF)
• Pioneers Essay question: To be answered separately, in 250 words or less. Why specifically are you interested in the USM Pioneers Program?

In addition to this form and separate essay, a letter of recommendation from a science or math teacher is also required and must be submitted by January 2, 2013.

Students must also apply for admission to USM into a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) major, listed below, by January 2, 2013 and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than February 15, 2013.

Important Dates

January 2, 2013 - Applications due
January 18 & 25, 2013 -  On-campus interviews for PIoneers candidates. Interviews will be held at the John Mitchell Center on the USM Gorham campus. 

STEM Majors at USM include:

Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, General Science, Geosciences, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Natural and Applied Sciences, Physics, and Technology.
