- Thursday, February 28th, 2013
5:30PM – 7:00 PM
Abromson Community Education Center
USM Portland Campus
Some of the questions the panel will address include: What are some of the ‘gaps’ that exist in the current economy of our state that prevent Maine from achieving excellence on a broad scale in business? How do these issues impact your business/workplace? What solutions are you working on? What can businesses, legislators, educators and members of the workforce collaborate effectively on together to help move Maine ahead? What are some of the investments in People that should be made and who should be making them? Who are you collaborating with most successfully to close these gaps?
The presentation on February 28th will be to benefit Work it UP and raise awareness within the Greater Portland community of the important work of the organization to link professionals, recent graduates and businesses in collaborative projects that help local companies grow and create jobs.
In partnership with Work it UP, USM’s Professional Development Programs is offering three courses this Spring (March/April/May) to businesses and individuals alike. The Work it UP Business Growth Certificate will give participants the training and tools they will need to assess, plan and implement business growth and change management in the companies they are associated with to help pave the way for job creation opportunities in Maine.
